WHAT IS PITRA DOSH PUJA
What is Pitra Dosh?
Pitra Dosh is a term used in Vedic astrology and Hindu belief. It refers to a kind of problem or imbalance in a person’s life that happens because of unhappy or unsatisfied souls of ancestors (Pitras). In simple words, when our ancestors have not received proper rituals like Pind Daan, Shraddh, or other prayers after their death, their souls may remain restless. This can create obstacles or troubles in the lives of their family members. This situation is called Pitra Dosh.
It is believed that Pitra Dosh appears in a person’s horoscope due to the karmic debts of forefathers. These are actions (good or bad) done by ancestors that have not been resolved. Sometimes, it can also happen if someone in the family has not fulfilled their duties toward their ancestors.
